Not enough importance is placed on feeding your aquarium inhabitants. It is long believed that any food will do. Your fish rely on food to keep them healthy a mixed diet is important. Feeding the wrong foods and not enough mixture replacing what they would naturally eat if they were in the wild can be detrimental. Fish can be vegetarians, omnivores or carnivores and we need to cater for them. We always recommend flakes or pellets as the main food, then add in some freeze dried or frozen insect matter.
Feeding your fish 2 to 3 times a day is recommended (feeding fish once a day or every second day or three times a week is wrong). Over feeding is a problem so be careful of how much you feed in one meal.
How well would you do eating cornflakes every meal and only eating every second day.
